30.3.07: CICERO Learning Symposium:
Learning and the Brain: Building Collaborative Frameworks for Neuroscience, Learning and Education
Around 50 people took part in the first CICERO Learning Symposium on Learning and the Brain at the University
of Helsinki on the 30th of March, 2007.
The keynote speakers were Dr Sue Pickering
and Dr Paul Howard Jones
from the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol and Professor
Christina M. Krause
from the University of Helsinki.
The participants included professors and researchers, professionals working
in the field of education and schools, as well as students and members of the general public. In addition to the audience in Helsinki,
more than a hundred viewers in Finland and abroad followed the presentations online. The webcast of the presentations and

Themes discussed in the symposium will be developed further in a CICERO Learning conference on Learning and the Brain on 20-21 November, 2007. One of the keynote speakers will be Professor Helen Neville from the University of Oregon. Watch this space for further information about the conference!
