VIDEO IN RESEARCH ON LEARNING AND EDUCATION - A CICERO LEARNING SUMMER SCHOOL COURSE IN AUGUST 2009
CICERO Learning Network will be organising a three-week summer school course this coming August. The course will be held in Helsinki on 4-20 August 2009.
The video research course is targeted to those interested in how research on learning and education can be expanded by using video-based methods and technologies. The course is an excellent opportunity for students and researchers to network while developing their understandings about the possibilities and challenges of video research in diverse settings.
The course is primarily for graduate and postgraduate students (i.e. students at Master’s and PhD level) who intend to use video-based methods and technologies in behavioural science research or in related fields. Students, who are in the final stages of their undergraduate studies and are familiar with video-based research, are welcome too.
The application deadline is July 24, 2009. However, early application is strongly recommended as students are selected based on merit and on a first come, first served basis.
The structure and themes of the course:
1. Theoretical Perspectives on Video-based Research
2. Video Research in Schools and Professional Development Settings
3. Video Research on Peer, Family and Informal Learning
4. Video Technologies and Collaboratories
The "Video in research on learning and education" course is part of the Helsinki Summer School 2009. For more information including APPLICATION FORMS please see Helsinki Summer School website.
