VIDEO IN RESEARCH ON LEARNING AND EDUCATION
CICERO LEARNING SUMMER SCHOOL COURSE 3-19 AUGUST 2010

CICERO Learning Network will be organising a three-week summer school course this coming August. The course will be held in Helsinki on 3-19 August 2010.
This Video Research course is targeted at students interested in using video-based methods and technologies in research on learning and education. The course curriculum consists of the practicalities of conducting video research in diverse settings, the theoretical background and ethical issues of video research as well as video analysis tools and methods. The course is an excellent opportunity for students and researchers to network while developing their understanding about the possibilities and challenges of video research in varied settings. Participants are also encouraged to share their experiences of video research tools and their own video research projects.
Who is this course for?
The course is designed for Master’s level and postgraduate (PhD) students who use or plan to use video-based methods and technologies for inquiries in educational research or related fields. The course leaders will also consider applicants who are in the final stages of their undergraduate studies and are familiar with video research. The course is multidisciplinary by nature, but as the emphasis is on behavioural sciences research, applicants should have at least some previous studies in this field.

3. Video research on teacher learning
4. Video research on peer, family, and informal learning
5. Video collaboratories and technological features
6. Various video research tools
