DEAN, PROFESSOR JANE CONOLEY AND DR TINE SLOAN VISIT UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI

Dean, Professor Jane Conoley and Dr Tine Sloan from University of California Santa Barbara, Gevirtz Graduate School of Education will visit CICERO Learning and the Department of Applied Sciences of Education on 9-13 March 2009.

The purpose of the visit is to look into possibilities of building a joint doctoral degree program in education between University of Helsinki and UCSB. Professor Conoley and Dr Sloan will also be introduced to teacher education and doctoral education programmes at University of Helsinki, this will include a visit to a teacher training school. There will also be a presentation on the teacher education programme at UCSB by the visitors, aimed mainly at the students of the Department of Applied Sciences of Education.
